Ralph Oda Loudenslager went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 6, 2014.
He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Vanlue, to Charles and
Iva (Swick) Loudenslager.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna; infant daughter, Sandra Kay; two sons, Gary and Terry; two brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Susan) Loudenslager of Cincinnati and Jeffrey (Jayne) Loudenslager of Hilliard; two daughters-in-law, Roxie (Gary) Loudenslager of North Carolina and Sara (Terry) Loudenslager of Hilliard; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and expecting the 10th; brother-in-law, Carlton (Paula) Fruth of Findlay; two sisters-in-law, Carole Gainsley of Findlay and Evelyn Thompson of Mundelein, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends at Cypress Wesleyan Church; neighbors in The Glenn; and special friends, Randy and Patty Wiseman of Plain City and Leonard and Joyce Bayer of Tiffin.
He retired from Signal Delivery Service (Sears) as parts manager, was a member of Teamsters Local 413 and also Cypress Wesleyan Church for the past 28 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed his hobby of wood crafting, playing euchre and spending time with his family and friends. After the loss of his wife in 2000, he became a vital member of the Single Seniors group at his church.
Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Cypress Wesleyan Church, 377 Alton & Darby Creek Road, Galloway, OH 43119, with Pastor Dale George officiating. Interment will follow at Alton Cemetery.
