Donald F. Bremer, 97, of Napoleon, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at his home.
He was born June 2, 1917, in Defiance County, to William and Clara (Bachaus) Bremer. He married Lorna (Helberg) Bremer May 12, 1946, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served his country proudly in the South Pacific theater during World War II from 1941-1945.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna; five children, Sheryl Owens of Charlotte, North Carolina, Randal (Donna) Bremer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Debra (Jay Bollinger) Burt of Tiffin, Renee Bremer Hartman of Custar and Tamara (Denny) Wilson of Jenison, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Bremer of Defiance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters Hilda Mix, Pauline Sutter, Lucille Shoemaker and Irma Overhulse; one brother, Edgar Bremer; and a stillborn son.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Rodenberger Funeral Home, 1010 Westmoreland Ave., Napoleon, OH 43545 and one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church.
His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 30997 Gerken Road, Okolona. Interment will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Okolona.
