Marilyn L. Frey

Marilyn L. Frey, 66, of Tiffin, passed away Monday evening, June 30, 2014, at Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin.

She was born Jan. 1, 1948, in Tiffin, to Richard L. and Alice L. (Gillig) Frey.

Survivors include her mother, Alice of Tiffin; brother, James A. (Jean) Frey of Toledo; four sisters, Sister Donna Frey, OSU of Toledo, Janet (Stephen) Shutt, Kathy (Mike) Runion and Karen Frey, all of Tiffin; nine nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, in 2004

Marilyn graduated in 1966 from Tiffin Calvert High School and received a certification for business from Stautzenberger, Toledo. She was a bank teller at St. Joseph Federal Credit Union and worked various jobs around the area. Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and enjoyed making rosaries for Shepherds of Christ Ministries. She was a Trace Adkins fan, enjoyed camping, staying in cabins and enjoyed going on an Alaskan cruise. Marilyn had a great sense of humor.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Elmwood at the Shawhan and to Davita Seneca County Dialysis, Tiffin.

Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday. A Christian wake service will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598, SCAT or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
