T-SPL to close Friday

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to be closed Friday in observance of Independence Day.

The library is to re-open Saturday with regular hours.

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Public Library is to be closed Friday and Saturday in observance of Independence Day.

Teen readers to meet

The teen department at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Book Lab" 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday at Bailiwicks Coffee Co., 62 S. Washington St.

Teens who register prior to the event are to receive a free beverage at Bailiwicks.

Library to offer early literacy program

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Bouncing Babies" at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Frost Kalnow room.

The program is to take the place of "Babies and Books." It is to feature stories, rhymes, songs, and finger plays.

Parents or caregivers are to sign up for language enrichment activities.

Summer program presents fireworks

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Fireworks in a Jar" 1-3 p.m. Wednesday in the Frost Kalnow room.

Participants are to create imitation fireworks. Items to bring are clear, glass or plastic jars.

Experiments continue at T-SPL

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Tween Time: Fizz Boom POP!" at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Frost Kalnow room.

The junior library is to present the program as part of their summer reading program.

Tweens are to participate in a blind soda taste-test, try homemade soda and experiment on their own.

Life-sized Candy Land offered at T-SPL

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Life-Sized Candy Land" p.m. July 8 in the Frost Kalnow room.

Families can come to the library and participate in the life-sized version of the classic board game.

Summer reading crafts at T-SPL

The teen department at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host "Create a Terrarium Out of Trash" 1-2:30 p.m. July 9 in the Frost Kalnow room.

The program is to be presented by the OSS Solid Waste Management District and is part of the library's summer reading program.

Participants are to make a terrarium out of recycled containers and fill them with mosses, plants and figurines.

The event is for teens entering grades 6 through 12.

Library to offer Alzheimer program

BELLEVUE - Marilyn Ward of the Alzheimer's Association is to visit Bellevue Public Library at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 and 15 to discuss issues relevant to families beginning to encounter Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

BELLEVUE The Yarn Club is to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bellevue Public Library.

Book group to read Grisham novel

BELLEVUE - Rappin' Readers book group is to meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Bellevue Public Library.

The next title to be discussed is "Theodore Boone: The Activist" by John Grisham.

Copies of the book are available at the youth services desk.

Summer story series to begin

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Public Library's Storytime Summer Series is to continue beginning July 7.

Preschool Storytime for ages 3-5 is at 7 p.m. Mondays and 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Toddler Time for ages 1-2 is to be at 6 p.m. Mondays and 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.

New titles at MCL

SYCAMORE - Mohawk Community Library is to introduce new fiction titles into its circulation from authors Janet Evanovich, Ridley Pearson, Linda Fairstein, Nancy Thaver, Sandra Orchard, Laura Benedict, Diana Gabaldon, Eric Lustbadler, Clare Donoghue and C.J. Carpenter.

Mohawk library receives grants

SYCAMORE - Mohawk Community Library has received grants from three local stores, Tiffin Walmart, Upper Sandusky Walmart and Bucyrus Walmart.

These grants are to be used for the Mohawk Community Library's Children's and the Adult Summer Reading program.

Award to honor members

ATTICA The Seneca East Public Library Foundation has established the Jett and Lillian Mohr Award to be presented annually at the foundation's reverse raffle and auction.

Jett and Lillian Mohr were influential in helping to create and establish the Attica Public Library, now named the Seneca East Public Library.

To be considered for the award includes the following: an individual or group who has demonstrated significant leadership, has provided consistent financial support, embodies the mission, vision, or philosophy of the library, commitment to serving on the boards, committees or is an employee, and has had a leadership role in any events or activities.

Nominations are to come from the board of trustees, staff or foundation members. The recipient is to be honored with a plaque to be placed in the library.
