Melvin D. Jennings

Melvin "Ned" D. Jennings, 83, of Bellevue, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Ernest C. and Beulah L. (Beard) Jennings. He married Betty Neil Bates in 1953, and she preceded him in death in 1992. He married Linda (Haynes) Jennings in 1998.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949-1952.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters; Monica Wright, Stephanie Zoss, Tammy Jennings; a son, Mark Jennings; two sisters, Dorothy Ling, Peggy Thompson; two sister-in-laws, Louise Jennings, Quanita Jennings, four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kathryn Stonebraker, Norma Fisher; and two brothers, Harold and Vance Jennings.

His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial and military honors will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Seybert United Methodist Church, Sandusky County Humane Society or Stein Hospice.
