Rescue workers clean up the scene of a two-vehicle accident at SR 635 and West CR 62 Sunday.
Miller was driving a 2005 Kia Spectra, and Whited was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram. The Dodge truck was pulling a trailer that was hauling a car.
Trooper Ivan Nunez of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said it appeared Miller was northbound on SR 635 and Whited was eastbound on CR 62. He said he did not know what led to the crash.
According to Dible, Whited said the truck and trailer went over the top of the front end of the car. The truck's right front suspension and wheel broke, and the vehicle was dragged into a cornfield, Dible said.
No citations were issued at the scene.
Nunez said Miller was wearing a seatbelt, but he was unsure whether Whited was wearing one.
The accident was reported at 2 p.m., a Seneca County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said.
Personnel from Kansas and Bettsville fire departments, Bascom EMS, Seneca County Sheriff's Office and the county's Echo unit responded to the accident.
