Doris A. Moss, 73, of Republic, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
Doris was born March 13, 1941, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to Hugh and Mattie G. (Siron) Shobe. She married Kenneth Moss February 12, 1971, in Tampa, Florida, and he preceded her in death May 20, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel K. (Terri) Smallwood of Hurricane, West Virginia, and Aeric K. (Tina Groves) Smallwood of Republic; and two brothers, William F. (Nancy) Shobe of Buckhannon, West Virginia, and David H. (Becky) Shobe of Oklahoma.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Doris owned and operated Kay's Beauty Salon, Republic, for 47 years. She was an avid sprint car and NASCAR fan and her favorite drivers were Steve Kinser and Dale Earnhardt. She enjoyed visiting and taking care of her house and farm in West Virginia and she also enjoyed collecting antiques.
Doris was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 3663 in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
Her funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with Pastor Clarence Edward Mullins Jr. officiating. Burial will take place June 27, 2014, at Straight Fork United Methodist Cemetery, Rock Cave, West Virginia.
Visitation will be 68 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
