Frederick Eugene Mullholand Jr., 78, of New Riegel, passed away Monday morning, June 16, 2014, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
He was born Oct. 26, 1935, in McCutchenville, to Frederick E. and Gladys (Godfrey) Mullholand Jr. He married Susan Wagner June 4, 1955, in Kirby, and they later divorced.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Mark) Thomas of Fostoria, Catherine (Jeff) Miller of Tiffin and Marlene (David) Grigger of North Royalton; seven sons, Randall (Sharon) Mullholand of North Canton, Robert Mullholand and Gary (Kathy) Mullholand, both of New Riegel, Joseph Mullholand of Upper Sandusky, Jeffrey (Michelle) Mullholand of Alvada, Jonathan (Tracy Lucius) Mullholand of Melmore and Thomas (Melissa Cook) Mullholand of Sycamore; two sisters, Donna Warnecke of McCutchenville and Francie Risner of Upper Sandusky; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
His parents; infant son, Darrell Mullholand; and a sister, Marilyn Snyder, preceded him in death.
Fred attended Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville, and retired from the Ohio Farmers in 1997 after more than 30 years of driving truck. He was a member of New Riegel Moose Lodge 872 and American Legion Post 888. Fred had a passion for fishing on Lake Erie, playing cards, gardening and visiting Amish Country. Most of all, he loved the time he had with his family. He was a private in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 as a truck driver.
His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, with the Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by New Riegel American Legion, will follow in Bethel South Bend Cemetery, McCutchenville.
Friends may visit and share stories from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
