Nina M. Shireman, 93, of Rossville, Indiana, and formerly Tiffin, passed away Ascension Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Milner Community Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Tiffin, to Paul and Antoinette (Perna) Panuto. She married Paul W. Shireman Nov. 17, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul (Phyllis) Shireman of Lafayette, Indiana, and Mark (Jean) Shireman of Toledo; two sisters and brother-in-law, Carmella Hufford of Tiffin and Rosemary (Paul) Cruetz of Walbridge; sister-in-law, Mary Panuto of Tiffin; four grandchildren, John, Joe, Stephanie and Monica; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Sebastian.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers and their spouses, Joe and Jackie Panuto and Dominic and Marge Panuto; brother, John Panuto; brother-in-law, Jack Hufford; and sister and brother-in-law, Conghetti (Karl) Kerschner of Tiffin.
Nina graduated in 1939 from Tiffin Calvert High School and retired as an office manager from Tiffin Foundry in 1982 after 17 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the altar rosary society.
Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation will be 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.
