Monica L. Arnold, 63, of Tiffin, died Thursday evening, June 5, 2014, at her home.
She was born March 23, 1951, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Salvador and Suzanne (Elblein) Valdez. She married Donald R. Arnold Jan. 10, 1970, and he died June 18, 2012.
Surviving are three children, Joseph P. (Kendra) Arnold of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kelly Ann (Andrew) Burns of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, and Danielle Marie (Daniel) Lange of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Trever and Tanner Arnold, Spencer and Isabelle Burns, Nolan and Ava Wright and Nichole, Kyler, Gage and Bryce Lange; one great-grandchild, Kameron Lange; and six siblings, Gloria Kurowski of Mason, Dolores (Robert) Stevens of Beach Park, Illinois, Ramona (Gerald) Smith of North Chicago, Illinois, Erlinda Valdez of Fox Lake, Illinois, Daniel Valdez of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Barbara (Jim) Lambert, Waukegan, Illinois.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Withem, and one brother Joseph Valdez; besides, her husband and parents.
Monica was a domestic engineer, custodian, playground aide and babysitter over her lifetime. She attended St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Cleaning Committee. She also attended St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin. She belonged to the Tiffin YMCA and formerly was a Girl Scout leader for five years.
A memorial service for Monica will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore.
