Ronald "Tommy" Day, 84, of Fostoria, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Ebeid Hospice Center, Sylvania.
He was born June 28, 1929, in Augusta, Kentucky, to Eugene and Mammie Day. He married Alberta Morris Oct. 18, 1958, in Paris, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Day of Fostoria; daughter, Mabel (Bo) Smith of Fostoria; four brothers, Donald Day, Wilbur "Peck" (Pat) Day and Rodney (Pam) Day, all of Fostoria, and Terry "Q-Ball" (Donna) Day of Brooksville, Kentucky; four sisters, Octa Roelle, Norma "Toots" Marshall and Charlotte "Shorty" Burkett, all of Fostoria, and Gail Might of Kansas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Bobby, Jerry, Leslie, Larry and Mickey Day; and two sisters, Jeanette Massey and Dorothy Ruf.
His memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, 301 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, with the Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating and military honors conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
