Willie Mae Hamilton, 87, of Fort Seneca, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Willie was born March 13, 1927, in Big Four, West Virginia, to Alfred and Femmie Jane (Mitchem) Wade. Willie first married Glen Meade and he preceded her in death. She later married Mark Hamilton and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Daniel T. Meade and Joyce A. Stewart, both of Tiffin, Karen S. Smith of Old Fort and LaDonna J. Burks of Tiffin; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Mitchem of Mount Joliet, Tennessee; and three sisters, Sylvia Sparks of Cooksville, Tennessee, Barbara Belcher of Welch, West Virginia, and Macey Cecil of North Carolina.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Glenn A. Meade; two brothers; and two sisters.
Willie was a homemaker and a former member of the Golden Threads.
A funeral for Willie will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
