Urban A. Seifert

Urban A. Seifert, 81, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born April 28, 1933, in Seneca County, to Oswald E. and Agnes O. (Wagner) Seifert.

Survivors include five brothers, William G. (Nancy) Seifert of Bloomville, Thomas G. (Shirley) Seifert of New London, Robert E. Seifert of Tiffin, Louis P. (Beverly) Seifert of Newnan, Georgia, and David V. Seifert of Thermopolis, Wyoming; two sisters, Helen Vadala of Tiffin and Ruth Woods of Richmond, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert O. Seifert, John J. Seifert, Oswald E. Seifert Jr. and Harold J. Seifert; and five sisters, Margaret Kinn, Delores Szablewski, Mary Kirkwood, Dorothy Magers and Alice Magers.

Urban graduated in 1951 from McCutchenville High School and served in the U.S. Army from April 16, 1953-March 9, 1955, during the Korean War. He worked for Donald Derr Farms for many years, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Post 6067, Green Springs, and had resided at the United Veterans Home since 1989. Urban enjoyed playing bingo and being outdoors.

His Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or Stein Hospice.
