Patricia A. Gassner

Patricia A. Gassner, 90, of Republic, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at her home.

She was born July 27, 1923, in Fremont, to Francis and Mary Ellen (Kennelly) Dalton. She married Walter L. Gassner June 24, 1944, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gassner was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica. She was an avid reader, bird-watcher, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Gassner is survived by three daughters, Janet (Gene) Crouse of Willard and Susan (Larry) Mackling and Shirley (Mike) Hufford, both of Sycamore; three sons, Walter (Minh) Gassner Jr. of Bellevue, Francis Gassner of Green Springs and Donald Gassner of Attica; son-in-law, Francisco Ramon of Bellevue; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Ramon; a granddaughter, Patty Gassner; a sister, Mary Rita Bauer; and a brother, Norbert Dalton.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Attica.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin St., Attica. The rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or Community Hospice in care of the funeral home.
