ARCHBOLD - Sauder Village is hosting a free agricultural lecture series this season in conjunction with the renovation of its grist mill.
Richard Anderson, chairman of The Andersons Inc., will present the first lecture at 7:30 p.m. Monday. "The Andersons Story" is to showcase the history of the Andersons company and its impact on agriculture in northwest Ohio.
Anderson will share the story of his company with video clips from a WGTE program and his own insights. He has been with The Andersons since his father, Harold, founded it in 1947.
The Andersons is a regional player in the grain industry based in Maumee.
Other lectures in the series include a program June 9 presented by Todd Price, founding director of Historic Wagner Farm in Glenview, Illinois, on "The Dawn of the Golden Age of Agriculture" and one Oct. 6 by Joe Anderson of Mount Royal University in Alberta, Canada, on "The Vacant Chair on the Farm: Understanding Marriage, Farm Management and Soldiering in the Midwest during the American Civil War."
Each of the series installments is free.
