Author to sign quilt book
BOWLING GREEN - Friday, Suzi Parron, author of "Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement," will be at the Wood County Historical Museum for a brown-bag lunch, program and book signing.
Lunch starts at noon, with the program starting at 12:30, followed by the book-signing. The event is free, but reservations are needed by calling (419) 352-0967.
The museum, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green, also will be open for self-guided tours of the new 4-H exhibit and the quilt exhibit.
Poker run to help FACT
Operation Needy Kids is to sponsor a poker run at noon Saturday to benefit Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment. The run is to begin and end at Big Shots Pub and Grub, 295 Vine St.
Cost is $10, which includes dinner. Following the ride, Mosquito Creek Band is to play 5-9 p.m.

Musical marches onto area stage
FINDLAY - "The Music Man" at Fort Findlay Playhouse continues today through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling (419) 422-4624.

FCT continues 'Chaperone'

Moms get free admission to attraction
PORT CLINTON - Sunday, African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton will grant moms free admission in observation of Mother's Day.
"We love to celebrate moms of all sorts, be they two-legged, four-legged, striped, spotted or scaly," said Kelsey Keller, technical adviser for African Safari. "This is our way of saying 'thanks for being there when we need you.'"
African Safari Wildlife Park is at 267 S. Lightner Road, Port Clinton, and is open daily through Nov. 30.
Ritz:?It'll happen one Wednesday
The final film in this season's film series at The Ritz Theatre is the 1934 motion picture "It Happened One Night." The show is at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The location for "Les Miserables" auditions has been changed to Brenneman Music Hall at Heidelberg University. The Ritz Players are staging the musical in July. Auditions are at 6:30 p.m. May 19 and 20 at Brenneman.
