Hilda Poole, 72, of Fostoria, passed away peacefully Friday, May 2, 2014, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she resided for the past four years.
She was born Aug. 13, 1941, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Albert Quednau, father, and Eldetraud Quednau, mother.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irma McGinty and Inge Rak, and her brother, Hartmut Quednau.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Russell E. Poole Sr.; three children, Michelle Reinhart of Findlay, Gary Poole of Bascom and Russell Poole Jr. of Fostoria; sisters, Ruth Urbac of Cleveland, Ellie Hell of California; and a brother, Herb Quednau.
Hilda was a loving grandmother of eight, and of four great-grandchildren. She was especially proud of her grandson, SSG Timothy Poole, who serves in the U.S. Army.
She worked as a seamstress for Bobbi Brooks in Cleveland and Tiffin Art Metal. She was a member of the DAV Chapter 34 in Tiffin. She loved her dog, enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards and being outdoors. When Hilda would hear music, she would start dancing, always having a loving, beautiful smile on her face. She was fun, sassy, caring and a wonderful personality.
A very special lady will be missed by her family.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria, where a funeral service will follow beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Paul E. Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin.
