VARSITY SOFTBALL: Seneca East romped St. Joe, 18-2 Monday. Rachel Bauman got the win to improve to 5-2. She also homered and had two RBIs, while Holly Bordner drove in five runs and Paige Reichert doubled.
JV SOFTBALL: Columbian rallied to beat Norwalk in the bottom of the seventh, 10-9. Maddy Moore scored the winning run with two outs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Paige Gitchess. Morgan Kuhn had a double and two RBIs for TC, while Beca Kimmet and Alexis Glick each had an RBI, and Lexie Taylor was the winning pitcher. She also scored the tying run in the seventh.
JV BASEBALL: Columbian held off Norwalk 17-12. Austin Burgess, Austin Parrott, and Kyle Edmond each had three hits. Edmond had two doubles and three RBIs, while Parrott had a double and three RBIs. Brad Fitch had two hits including a double and three RBIs, Zane Schank had two hits including a double and Graydon Bunting also had two hits. Bunting struck out five batters in two innings of relief.
JV TENNIS: The teams of Tyler Hawk and Robert Klepper, Wesley Henkel and Andrew Cole, Jacob English and Gus Panuto and Will Jones and Nate Wise all picked up wins for Columbian against Bellevue.
DISC GOLF: The Thursday Nights in Tiffin Disc Golf League begins May 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Hedges-Boyer Park. Entry fee is $5 for the best-disc format league. Players should meet by the practice basket. For more information, call (419) 934-3970.
GOLF: Bumps Traveling League opened its season Tuesday at Loudon Meadows. The team of Jeff Wise, Bob Hammer, Dick Watson and Gary Hohman won via tiebreaker over Fritz Smith, John Schalk, P.J. Hufford and Frtiz Elchert. Both teams finished at 5-under par. Next week's outing is at 11 a.m. at Seneca Hills.
