A soldier from Carey is to compete at an Army Reserve regional-level Best Warrior Competition this month.
According to a release from the 416th Theater Engineer Command, Spc. Joshua Regutti, a combat engineer with the 983rd Engineer Battalion in Monclova, is to be one of more than 20 people in the completion. The competition is April 28-May 2 in Wisconsin, according to the release, and will determine which contestants will move up the Army Reserve level competition.
Regutti, an Afghanistan veteran, a Combat Action Badge recipient and a student at Bowling Green State University, is to be tested in the area of physical fitness, rifle and pistol marksmanship, land navigation, long-distance ruck march, urban orienteering, Army warrior tasks, hand-to-hand combat, board appearance, military knowledge and a written exam and essay.
