St. Francis spring recitals planned for today
Two groups of pupils are to play today at St. Francis Convent chapel. Students are to perform duets, ensembles with piano and violin and solo pieces.
Students receiving preparatory certificates at the recitals include Emily Kupka and Daniel George in piano and Claire Lortz in violin.
Students performing at 1 p.m. are Samuel Allen, Dalton and Emily Anstead, Raphael Confesor, Ashley and Thomas Daniel, Aaron and Andrew Fuhrer, Caleb Fuhrer, Taylor Hammond, Derek and Dinah Hay, Kelsey and Morgan Johnson, Emily Kupka, Hannah Miller, Shannon Schneider, Elijah and Luke Synder, Cain Wagner and Emily Willman.
The 2:30 players are Ryan Alvarado, Emma Beebe, Mary Brodman, Hannah Droll, Jayden and Jeta Fox, Allison, Benjamin, Henry and Julia Franks, Daniel George, Claire, Elyse and Isaac Lortz, Ashley, Katey and Will Reinhart, Kenna Thompson, and Anson Tran (organ).
The event is free.
Seneca East board reschedules meeting
ATTICA - Seneca East Board of Education's regular April 21 meeting has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the school, 13343 E. US 224, Attica.
Lakota board to meet
KANSAS - The Lakota Local School District Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the staff dining room at the school, 5200 CR 13, Kansas.
NCOESC governors to meet
The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Governors is to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tiffin office, 928 W. Market St.
H-L boosters to have meeting on complex
The Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools' Athletic Boosters are to have a meeting at 7 p.m. April 29 at the school to discuss the flooding issues with the athletic complex.
Seneca County Engineer Mark Zimmerman is to give a program and answer questions.

Adult Basic and Literacy Education classes at Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Center are to begin.

OLD FORT - The Ohio FFA is to host the 86th annual State Convention May 1-2 in Columbus. Roy Hasselbach, Jeremiah Miller and Molly Cleveland of Old Fort FFA chapter are to be recognized for their achievements.
St. Wendelin offers EdChoice scholarships
FOSTORIA - St. Wendelin Catholic School has announced 4,000 Ohio Educational Choice Scholarships are to be available to incoming kindergarten and first grade students for the 2014-15 school year.
Deadline to turn in applications is Friday. Another opportunity is available July 1-31.

Seneca East student earns award
COLUMBUS - Cody Stombaugh, Seneca East High School senior, was named the Seneca County recipient of the 25th annual Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Award April 9 in Columbus.
The award was sponsored by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association.
Stombaugh received a plaque and a cash award from the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center.
Stombaugh is the son of Rick and Lora Stombaugh of Republic.
