Restaurant to host benefit
Tiffin Optimist Club is to be the beneficiary of a community fundraiser 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Bob Evans, 2310 W. SR 18. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of the sale from each person who presents a flyer.
The club is to use the proceeds for youth-related projects.
Health alliance to meet
The Seneca County Health Alliance has planned a meeting for 9 a.m. Wednesday in Conference Room 2 at the Tiffin Developmental Center Administration Building. A discussion is planned on follow-up activities for the group's strategic plan.
Members should come prepared to describe what each agency has done or is doing. A short follow-up on funding commitments also is planned. Membership dues can be paid at that time.

Parenting classes forming
"Protecting your child's health with shots" is a class to inform parents about the why, what, where and when of vaccines. Taught by the Ohio Department of Health and the Seneca County Health District, it is to take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at PatchWorks House, 42 Madison St.
Parents of children from newborn to 4 years old are invited to a three-part parenting class, "1-2-3-4 Parents." The classes run 10:30-11:30 a.m. April 23 and 30 and May 7. The class is to provide information, skills and support for the health and well-being of children.

Bees program approaches
Speaker Nancy Grandillo is to give a program on bees 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. She is to discuss the importance of native bees to food systems and explain ways to preserve their populations.
After her talk, participants can ask questions and make a bee house. A freewill donation is to be collected.
Fundraiser to benefit Cooks
Bob Evans restaurant is staging a community fundraiser for the late Tom Cook.
The benefit is slated 6 a.m.-9 p.m. April 14 at the Tiffin store, 2310 W. SR 18. Dine-in and carry-out patrons who present a flyer with their payment can designate 15 percent of the sale to the Cooks.
Cook recently died of cancer, leaving his daughter, a Bob Evans employee, with expenses.
Former GE employees plan lunch
A luncheon will be served for former General Electric employees at noon May 3 at the VFW Hall in Tiffin. The cost of the dinner is $13. Seating is limited to the first 180 reservations.
