TCS program committee to meet

Tiffin City Board of Education's Program Committee is to meet at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Administration Building, 244 S. Monroe St.

NCA board to meet

The North Central Academy Board is to meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, 928 W. Market St., Suite A.

BC board to meet for superintendent search Thursday

NEW WASHINGTON - The Buckeye Central Board of Education is to have a public input meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the multi-purpose room at the school.

The board regular meeting is to follow at 7 p.m.

The meeting is in order to gain information from school district residents concerning desired attributes of the next superintendent.

The meeting is to be conducted by Dwight McElfresh and Gene Linton, search consultants from the Ashland University Telego Center for School Improvement.

For residents unable to attend, feedback can be provided through an online survey and by contacting Linton at elinton@ashland.edu.

Bridges to host garage sale

Bridges Community Academy is to host a garage sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in the Elizabeth Schaffer gym, 190 St. Francis Ave.

Funds raised are to go towards the "Spring Outreach."

Krout begins new reading program

Krout 2-3 Elementary School is conducting a reading incentive and motivation program called the "Krout Reading Olympics."

Students earn medals for completing reading tasks including submitting a weekly home reading log, achieving weekly reading goals and improving reading test scores.

As of March 31, Krout students have earned 6,280 medals for their recognition in these reading tasks. This program isto continue through April.

The Tiffin Columbian Alumni Association donated $600 for the purchase of books.

Spelling Bee finalists

GREEN SPRINGS - Eighteen finalists participated in the Fifth Grade Spelling Bee at Green Springs Elementary March 28.

Braden Riehl was announced as the 2014 champion and Zachary Hickman was the runner-up. Both are to compete at a statewide spelling be at the Ohio State Fair.

Clyde receives clean audit

COLUMBUS - Auditor of State Dave Yost announced the Clyde-Green Springs Exempted Village School District has received the Auditor of State Award for its clean audit reports as of March 25.

Tiffin native to compete for state homecoming queen

Tiffany Nicole Tompkins of Tiffin has been selected for Ohio's 34th annual Homecoming Queen Selection at the Dayton Marriott.

Tompkins was named the Mohawk High School Homecoming Queen. She is the daughter of Brandon and Jennifer McKeen of Tiffin.

If chosen, Tompkins could receive a cash scholarship and an all expense paid trip to the National Finals to compete for America's Homecoming Queen.
