Fostoria police are continuing to investigate a weekend shooting that injured a 19-year-old man.
Capt. Patrick Brooks of the Fostoria Police Department said no charges have been filed yet in connection to the shooting reported early Saturday morning at Fostoria Townhouses that injured Thomas Breitigam Jr.
Breitigam, who was shot in the left calf, was transported by a friend to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital and then taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Brooks said the injuries to Breitigam's leg were serious.
Brooks said a gun believed to have been used in the shooting has been recovered from an undisclosed location. He said police are not sure what prompted the shooting, but believe it may have stemmed from a fight reported earlier at Sandusky and Main streets.
Brooks said the investigation is expected to be wrapped up by the end of the week.
