Henry D. "Bud" Norris, 90, of Fostoria, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Findlay, to Ivron and Alice (Berman) Norris, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Norris of Fostoria; his three daughters, Sharon Ann (Steve) Umphress of Mount Blanchard, Susan Louise (Rick) Jacox of Lexington and Sandra Lynn Brown of Fostoria; his five stepchildren, Michael (Becky) Shilling of Dansville, Mich., John Shilling of Findlay, Steve (Pat) Shilling of Vanlue, Sharon (Harry) Colvin of Arcadia and Rick (Vickie) Shilling of Findlay; his brother, Ivron J. (Barbara) Norris of Tiffin; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond G. and Duane G. Norris, and his sister, Florence L. Norris.
Henry was a 1942 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. He married Helen Cochran in 1946. He later married Rosetta (Ward-Shilling) Norris Aug. 2, 1988, in Norris, Tenn. Henry was a veteran of the U.S. Army 30th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop and served during World War II. He worked at General Electric for more than 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Blanchard River Church of Christ, Fostoria American Legion and a life member of the Tiffin VFW. Henry enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycle, especially to Amish country.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
His memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Umphress officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
