Dorothy Norris, 87, of Fostoria, died early Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born Aug. 28, 1926, the daughter of Ross and Agnes (McNabb) Zeller, both of whom preceded her death.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas R. (Patricia) Norris of Hilliard and William G. (Wendy) Norris of Fostoria; five grandchildren, Robert (Karen) and Gregory (Kerry) Norris of Hilliard, Carrie (Derek) Shultz of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Susan Norris of Columbus, and Kimberly (Scott) Mancino of Lake Orion, Mich.; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Norris; sister, Marie Fruth; three half sisters, Rosetta Pierson, Margaret Keifer and Catherine Reese; and one half brother, Nelson Zeller.
Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Fostoria High School and then later graduated with an associate's degree in nursing from Maumee Valley School of Nursing in 1947.
She married Raymond Norris Feb. 28, 1949, at United Church of Christ, Fostoria. Dorothy was a registered nurse for 30 years for Fostoria Community Hospital, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fostoria. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, painting, drawing and camping; but most of all, she loved babysitting her grandchildren and seeing them at all their activities.
Her funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be private.
