Valesha Province was remarkably prolific in her junior season, one in which she set a school record and drew the attention of Northern Ohio League opponents.
That attention, usually in the form of defensive pressure, has now translated into accolades.
After being named an honorable mention on the All-Northwest District team last week, Province was named to the All-Northern Ohio League's first team.
Columbian’s Valesha Province dribbles upcourt during a game against Rossford earlier this season in Tiffin. Province was named to the NOL’s first team.
The list was released Monday.
Province, the only Columbian player to make All-NOL, averaged almost 21 points and six rebounds a game for the Tornadoes.
She also set a school record by dropping 40 points in a loss to Upper Sandusky in February.
Joining Province on the first team was Bellevue's Carly Santoro, an all-state selection (see other story) and Santoro's teammate, senior Makala Daniel.
Rounding out the first team was Norwalk's Sydnie Fetherolf, Willard's Hannah Schloemmer and Shelby's Taylor Fulton.
Two other Redmen were tabbed on the list.
Whitney Schalk was named second team, while Janelle Watson rated honorable mention.
