Stagnolia pleads guilty to charges

The former owner of Zig-Stag pleaded guilty to drug- and taxation-related charges this morning and is now awaiting sentencing. Shawn G. Stagnolia, 37, appeared in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley's courtroom where he withdrew his not guilty pleas and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, along with charges of distribution of tobacco products with intent to avoid payment of tax, a fourth-degree felony, possession of untaxed tobacco products, a fourth-degree felony, failure to file withholding return, a fifth-degree felony, and permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony. The aggravated possession of drugs charge had originally been a second-degree felony.
