Drug charges are pending against a Fostoria woman after a search warrant was conducted at her residence early Thursday morning.
According to a release from the Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit, law enforcement officers conducted the search at 523 1/2 E. North St., the residence of Abra L. Jackson, where they found suspected marijuana and cocaine, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, criminal tools, money and evidence of drug trafficking.
Charges of trafficking in crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of criminal tools and permitting drug abuse are pending upon the conclusion of the entire drug investigation and on lab results of the suspected drugs, according to the release.
"As soon as we wrap up the investigation, she's going to be charged," said Chuck Boyer, unit coordinator of METRICH.
Boyer said METRICH had received a number of complaints regarding Jackson within the past year, and neighbors of Jackson should be pleased with the results of Thursday's search.
"I'm pleased with the results of this investigation and believe it should make an immediate impact in that specific area, which we hope will address the complaints and concerns of the citizens living in that neighborhood," said Capt. Pat Brooks of the Fostoria Police Department in the release.
According to the release, the Fostoria Police Department's SWAT team was utilized to make entry into the residence Thursday and execute the search warrant safely and effectively. The department's canine unit also assisted.
Citizens are encouraged to continue to report suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agencies or to the METRICH Unit Crime hotline at (877) 446-DRUG or (419) 443-0463.
