Program on essential oils to be presented at St. Francis
"Greening Your Life with Essential Oils," an adult education program, is planned 10 a.m.-noon March 8 at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave.
Speaker Beverly Martin returns to FELC to lead a presentation on how to make life more environmentally friendly using essential oils for everyday use. The session is to provide ideas for how to use essential oils in circumstances from cleaning to health.
Attendees are to receive recipes for uses of essential oils such as laundry detergent, shampoo and all-purpose cleaner.
Cost is a freewill donation.

Applications being taken to fish for trout in Castalia
Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife conducts an annual drawing to fish for trout in a half-mile section of Cold Creek that runs through Castalia State Fish Hatchery. Participation is determined by a computer-generated random drawing in early April.
The application period starts Saturday and continues through March 31.
Applications must be submitted online. Go to the Wild Ohio Customer Center at www.wildohio.com and click "lottery applications." Applicants 16 years and older must have a valid fishing license to apply.
Anglers can check the website with their customer number to find out whether they were chosen. Applicants not chosen to participate will not be notified. Anglers chosen to participate will receive instructions on how to download the permit and further instructions.
Licenses for fishing, hunting
Ohio's 2014-15 fishing, hunting and trapping licenses are available for purchase, and are valid through Feb. 28, 2015, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
White-tailed deer and fall wild turkey permits go on sale later this year. Prices are unchanged from last year.

Walleye daily limit drops
Anglers are reminded the daily limits for walleye are reduced, beginning Saturday, to four fish per day, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife.
From Saturday through April 30, the daily bag limit on all Ohio waters of Lake Erie for any combination of walleye, sauger and saugeye is four, with a minimum size of 15 inches.
The daily bag limit has been six since last May.
