TCS board to meet

The Tiffin City Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tiffin Middle School cafetorium, 103 Shepherd Drive.

High school students provide brunch for seniors

The annual senior citizen's brunch is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. March 20 at Columbian High School.

Seniors, 50 and older, living in the Tiffin City School District are eligible to receive free tickets. Tickets are available at Allen Eiry Senior Center and are to be picked up in person during business hours. There is a limit of two tickets per person.

Due to limited parking, people are to park in the Charlotte Street lot near the softball field. There is to be a bus shuttle to the front of the school. Pick-ups are to begin at 8:45 a.m. Seniors are to be returned to the parking lot at 1:30 p.m.

H-L meeting times

BASCOM - The Hopewell-Loudon Local Board of Education is to meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the district conference room, located at 181 N. County Road 7.

The district is to make accommodations for a disabled people.

Clyde FFA updates

CLYDE - Clyde FFA participated in the agriculture sales competition Feb. 3 at Wayne Trace High School. The team consisted of Brittany McClure, Kayle Geyer, Aaron Klohn, and Taylor Caster. The team sold a biosecurity kit for the event.

Geyer placed second, McClure placed fourth, Klohn placed fifth, and Caster placed 13th. The team placed first and is to head to state Saturday.

The FFA also sent its reporters and secretarys book for district evaluation. The secretary's book received a gold rating, while the reporters book received a silver rating.

The FFA also sent state degree applications and two American degree applications. Students that made it past district evaluation for the state degree include Kara Ohms, Logan Black, Chelsea Zerman, Aaron Klohn and Zack Caster. Savannah Kuns and Alexis Taylor also made it past district evaluation for their American degrees.

In recent news, the FFA placed sixth in the state greenhand quiz contest.

The team consisted of 13 freshmen students. High Placings for Clyde were Taylor Caster placing 23rd; Robert Selvey placing 28th; Demi Brown placing 34th; Blake Munger placing 53rd; Cydne Jess placing 56th; and Alicia Klohn placing 64th.

H-L ready for open enrollment program

BASCOM - Hopewell-Loudon Local School District again is a participant in the open enrollment program.

Applications for open enrollment for the 2014-15 school year are available in the Hopewell-Loudon Board office and online at www.hlschool.org.

Completed applications are to be returned 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. beginning March 3.

The deadline for applications is March 28.
