Alice Mae Whiting

Alice Mae Whiting, 71, of Avon Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Westlake.

Alice was born May 14, 1942, in Green Springs, to Carlton and Mildred (Fought) Schwan. In May 1962, she married Orville E. Whiting, and he preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1975.

Survivors include four children, Robert Whiting of Avon Lake, Kenneth Whiting of Phoenix, Ariz., Daniel (Denise) Whiting of Elyria and Karen (Russell) Clear of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three siblings, John (Barb) Schwan of California, and Marian Beier and Carol Hoffman, both of Clyde.

Mrs. Whiting was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Eads.

Her memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2104, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, with the Rev. Ray Kovach officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
