"Follow Your Dreams" is to be the topic of the next Tiffin University Good Morning World Breakfast lecture series presented by meteorologist Jay Berschback.
Berschback appears on 13ABC Action News Good Morning as well as on 13ABC Action News at noon. He has earned the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
"This lecture is different because of the extreme weather we have been experiencing across the country and specifically to our part of the world," said Ron Schumacher, vice president for development and public affairs. "We initially did not intend to do a presentation on the weather, but the timing is very appropriate."
Berschback earned a bachelor's degree in atmospheric, oceanic and space sciences from the University of Michigan's College of Engineering. While attending college, he was the fill-in weather anchor at WLNS-TV in Lansing, Mich., and he worked at private weather forecasting company Commercial Weather Services , Inc.
Before Berschback came to WTVG-TV, he worked as the morning and noon meteorologist at WTWO-TIV in Terre Haute, Ind. While in Indiana, he anchored the weather, read news stories, interviewed guests and hosted a live cooking segment.
According to a release provided by the university, "Jay says that 13 Action News 'Live Doppler 13000' and 'Vipir' are the most outstanding weather equipment he has worked with to date."
If you go..
Good Morning World Breakfast lecture series is at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Camden Falls Reception & Conference Center, 2460 S. SR 231.
The program is to begin at 8 a.m.
"I believe the takeaway will be twofold, one will be how decisions can influence life-changing events as Jay will provide background on this and obviously our weather and what we can expect over the next several months," Schumacher said.
"Jay is a great fit for Good Morning World because he was not studying to be a weather broadcaster but some events occurred and here he is."
