Roger A. Schwab

Roger A. Schwab, 64, of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 31, 1949, in Tiffin, to the late Edward J. and Nora (Thiery) Schwab. He married Jean Abbott and they later divorced.

Survivors include his son, Brad (Julie) Schwab of Colorado; daughter, Stacie (David) Ames of Columbus; brother, Edward (Rita) Schwab of Tiffin; sister, Denise Wonderly of Tiffin; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Roger graduated in 1967 from Tiffin Columbian High School and served in the United States Army from July 1969 to August 1970, during the Vietnam War. He was a welder most of his life for area factories and moved to Chillicothe 20 years ago. Roger enjoyed playing guitar, playing in local bands and fishing at Lake Erie.

His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian wake service will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or a local veteran's organization.
