Lester C. "Pete" Robinson, 68, of Fostoria, passed away at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Tiffin, to Lester C. Sr. and Marguerite (Tenpenny) Robinson. He married Linda Nelen and they divorced. He then married Emma "Dell" (Robinson) Walters, and she survives in Fostoria, after sharing 41 years of marriage.
Also surviving are three children, Karen (Robert) Hyman of Chesapeake, Va., Christopher (Jennifer) Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jennipher Robinson of Orange Park, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Dee (Herb) Conn of Upper Sandusky, Jackie (Alan Camper) Walters of Mexico, Jim (Jennifer) Walters of Findlay and Missy (Keith) Kauble of Wharton; and a sister, Mary (Lee) Kelsay of Lawtey, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eric "Ricky" Robinson; a brother, Gaylord Swazy; and two sisters, Dona Myers and Wilma Bish.
Pete retired in 2009 from Fostoria Industries after 33 years of service. He was a member of New Life Family Worship Center, Fostoria and AMVETS Post No. 777 Upper Sandusky, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan, who also enjoyed NASCAR and visiting the drag strip. As a hobby, he was a woodworker; making canes and doing carvings. He will also be fondly remembered as a hunter, Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and a drummer-when he played in the band.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
His funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Family Worship Center, 800 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, with Pastor Marie Turner presiding. Burial will follow at Mexico Cemetery, Wyandot County, with the United Veterans of Fostoria providing military honors.
