Kathleen M. "Kate" Shireman, 84, of Old Fort, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 2014, at Elmwood at the Springs, Green Springs.
She was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Tiffin, to Alvin S. and Cordell M. (Hoover) Krupp. She married Calvin Shireman Aug. 22, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include her son, Stephen (Karen) Shireman of Old Fort; three daughters, Lisa (Mark) Hickle and Debra (Kevin) Ryman, both of Tiffin and Sharon (Greg) Miller of Bettsville; a brother, Richard E. "Butch" Yoakum of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Ronald Shireman; brother, Alvin "Butch" Krupp; two sisters, Mary Lou "Susie" Snay and Cleo Krupp; and one grandchild, Kyle Ryman, in 2001.
Kathleen graduated from Columbian High School and attended Terra Community College. She worked at Tiffin Glass House for 20 years, was a food demonstrator at Foodtown and helped the elderly for many years. Kathleen enjoyed playing bingo.
Her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, with Pastor Keith Koppenhofer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of her funeral Monday, Jan. 27 at the funeral home.
