The Tiffin Art Guild is seeking entries for the 2014 Photo Prize Competition. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 22.
Pieces accepted for this juried exhibition are to be displayed March 1-29 in the TAG Gallery, 178 S. Washington St. Awards are to be announced at 6:30 p.m. March 1 with a reception in the gallery.
The contest categories are portrait, landscape, architecture and general
interest. The judge is to select 60 photographs for the exhibit and decide on the awards.
An individual may win no more than two awards. The prizes include best of show, $150; best color photo, $75; and best black and white, $75. First-place category prizes are $50 each. All prize winners also receive a one-year membership in TAG.
All entries must be original work. The photographer must be a resident of northwest or north central Ohio or a member in good standing of TAG and at least 16 years of age. Work may be any type of photographic process, but it must originate in a camera and have been taken by the photographer entering the work. Either film or digital work is acceptable.
The entry fee is $20 for TAG members and $25 for non-members, payable in cash or check with registration.
All entries must be matted and framed, with glass or plexiglass in the frame protecting the photo, and may be no larger than 50 combined inches (height plus width). All frames should be wired for hanging.
Entrants also are urged to offer their work for sale. Entry forms should indicate price or NFS (Not for sale). Payment from sales will be made to the photographer within two weeks of the end of the show. TAG collects a 25 percent commission on all sales.
Entry photos and payments are due noon-4 p.m. Feb. 20, 21 and 22 at the gallery, 178 S. Washington St.
