OAK HARBOR - With Columbian and Oak Harbor tied at 39 and less than three seconds left in regulation, the Rockets turned to Tyler Sievert.
Sievert came through.
The Rocket connected on a 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded, giving his team a 42-39 victory over the Tornadoes.
Sievert finished with 10 points, tying him with two others for the team lead.
The Tornadoes (5-6) trailed 25-18 at the half, but grabbed the lead after an 11-5 third-quarter spurt, and went into the fourth up 30-29.
Derek Dryfuse gave the Tornadoes 11 points and eight rebounds, while Josh Flint, Donovan Walker and Alec Demith each added six points.
Gibsonburg breaks down Old Fort
GIBSONBURG - It was clear Gibsonburg's game plan played out like it had hoped as the Hunter became the hunted. Old Fort's (10-3) leading scorer Hunter Perry was held to just seven points as the Stockaders fell to Gibsonburg 68-43.
The Golden Bears (10-2) were led by Andrew Cantrell, who hit six 3-pointers on his way to 20 points. Adam Copley followed his performance with 14 points and Tyler Ernsthausen tossed in an additional 10 points.
Hunter Perry didn't have a crazy scoring night as usual, leaving his teammates to carry the load. Maison Steyer stepped up for Old Fort scoring 12 points while Elijah Cleveland, Brad Bannister and Jon Lotycz all put up eight points in the losing effort.
Warriors fight off Ridgemont
SYCAMORE - Mohawk was outscored 15-1 in the fourth quarter but it too little too late as the Warriors held off a late surge from Ridgemont to pick up a 60-45 victory.
Led by Mitch Parker's 15 points, Mohawk owned the first three quarters. Hunter Fitschen backed Parker, tossing in 13 points.
Ridgemont was led in scoring by Zane Conley and Chris Weyant who each had nine points. Trenton Sparks followed up with eight points.
