Phyllis J. Tusing, 81, of Bloomville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Upper Sandusky, to John R. and Margaret (Dunlap) Kagy. She married Ernest J. Tusing April 15, 1955, at College Hill UCC, and he preceded her in death Sept. 30, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Neil Tusing of Attica and Mark (Micki) Tusing of Tiffin; two brothers, Richard (Ruth) Kagy and John D. Kagy, both of Bloomville; seven grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Arnold, Craig and Lindsay Tusing, Lauren (Anthony) Harman, Savannah (Pete) Chesterfield, Tayah (Brian) Heibertshausen and Garrett Tusing; and four great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Wyatt, Carter and Adalyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Stewart in 1997.
Phyllis worked as a librarian at Bliss Memorial Library, Bloomville, for several years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of College Hill United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild of College Hill Church, the Mother's Hour Club, Bloomville, and the Allen Eiry Center, Tiffin. She enjoyed quilting, shopping, baking, gardening, going on bus trips and spending time with her family.
Her funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with Pastor Robert Haskins officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.
