Dale E. Williams

Dale E. Williams, 92, of Tiffin, died at 9:15 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Friedman Village Assisted Living in Tiffin.

Dale was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Tiffin, to the late David and Hannah (Biller) Williams. Dale married Ruth (Houck) June 14, 1974, in Tiffin, and she survives in Tiffin.

Survivors include his brother, Roy Williams of Tiffin; a sister, Neva Hunker of Tiffin; previous wife, Ruth Wanda (Miller) Williams of Clearwater, Fla.; three children, Lynn (Leon) Charles of Fostoria, Roxane (Todd) Emmer of Columbus and Nora (Jim Watson) Williams of Vermilion; five stepchildren, Linda Coull of Staten Island, N.Y., Tom Houck of Tucson, Ariz., Vickie (David) Welly of Tiffin, Bill Houck of Vancouver, Wash., and Judith Park of Daytona Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Dale was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the Air National Guard. Dale lived in Lakeside for 24 years before returning to Tiffin. He retired from Whirlpool's Clyde division and was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Dale received his 70-year membership pin from the VFW in October. Dale enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with his flowers and traveling with his wife, Ruth.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Herman, Carl and Stanley Williams.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United Veterans Council. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery at a later date. Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
