Ronald G. "Guyo" Martin, 58, of Tiffin, died at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at his residence.
Ron was born Sept. 15, 1955, in Tiffin, to Richard H. and Jeanette M. (Rosenberger) Martin.
Survivors include his dog, Bridget; nine stepchildren, Chuck Egbert, John Egbert, Pat Ruchaford, Judy Chamberlin, Becky Stapleton, Jason Persinger, Bobbie Persinger, Jeanette Persinger and Brian Persinger; 10 stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; a godson, Christopher Mowry; four brothers, Donald (Denise) Martin of Bettsville and Daniel Martin, Richard A. (Penny) Martin and Chris Martin, all of Tiffin; two sisters, Teresa Mowry and Mary Fuller, both of Tiffin; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Ron was a hard-working man all of his life. He most recently worked for Karl's Hauling, Tiffin. Ron was a Cleveland Browns and Detroit Tigers fan and a former member of Tiffin Moose, Eagles and Bettsville American Legion. Ron was a NASCAR race fan, a 1974 graduate of Bettsville High School and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and singing karaoke.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Brian Martin; brother-in-law, Paul Mowry; a niece, Misty Martin; and a nephew, Bill Martin.
His memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, (419) 447-1221, with the Rev. James Mussman officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin, at a later date.
