Carl P. "Pokey" Williams, 95, of Fostoria, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Cairo to Ralph and Leala (Dunn) Williams. He married Clara R. Kimble March 17, 1940, in Fostoria.
Survivors include five daughters, J. Kay Bickelhaupt, Lynn M. Vera and Barbara J. Williams, all of Fostoria, Carolyn S. (Gary Hicks) Holland of Rogersville, Ala., and Roberta "Bobbi" Williams of Findlay; six sons, James A. Williams of Pensacola, Fla., Charles P. Williams of Athens, Ala., Jerry D. (Laura) Williams of Ada, and Franklin E. (Darlene) Williams, Ralph Williams and Carl E. (Dawn) Williams, all of Fostoria; 36 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
His parents, wife and a great-great-grandchild are deceased.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin, with military honors by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
