William H. Luman Jr., 70, of Carey, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 9, 1943, in rural Carey, to William H. Sr. and Rose Mae (Looman) Luman. He married Gloria "Cindy" Fletcher May 16, 1965, and they divorced.
Surviving are a son, Christopher (Liz) Luman of Carey; a grandson; a sister-in-law, Teresa McCormack of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Rosalie Ruch of Tiffin; and two brothers, John Luman of Bettsville and Jim Luman of Upper Sandusky.
Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son, William H. Luman III; and a sister, Gloria Bowen.
He was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on the U.S.S. Hunley.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A graveside service will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Linda Davison officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
