REPUBLIC Republic council members learned the auction of unneeded village equipment Dec. 14 benefitted their finances by $76,000. The possible purchase of a dump truck was discussed.
Police Chief Don Holmer said a three-year grant that has been providing the village with computer, software and phone service for the cruiser has expired and the village will have to pick up the annual fee of $528.60. Members are to consider the issue and make a determination at the next meeting.
Fiscal Officer Monique Delaney reported a total of $1,031,329.38 in all funds with $400,000 invested.
Mayor Bruce Lambert said Village Administrator Crystal Hoepf is on an open-ended medical leave with a guaranteed position when she is ready to return. In the meantime the village is in need of assistance and Lambert is to contact Darin Brown who previously served the village as an interim village administrator. Contacting an employment agency is also a possibility.
Council is asking community members for assistance with snow plowing. If you have equipment and are willing to help, contact the village office or any council member.
The meeting moved into executive session for discussion of their personnel issue.
After discussion, members tabled an ordinance authorizing execution of an energy purchase supply schedule with AMPOhio.
In other action, council:
Adopted the ordinance establishing temporary appropriations for fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2014.
Accepted the ordinance adopting the 2014 Ohio Basic Code.
Council is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6.
