A person was injured in an accident involving two semis in Jackson Township Friday morning.
A State Highway Patrol spokeswoman said Hasanphe D. Mawalage of Canada was taken to ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, said Trooper Jordan Schwochow of State Highway Patrol.
The other driver, Timothy W. Renhardt of Michigan, was not injured.
One semi was westbound on CR 592, and the other was southwest bound on SR 12. The back half of the semi that was on SR 12 caught the front corner of the semi that was on CR 592, Schwochow said.
A witness said the truck on CR 592 was stopped at the stop sign and waited for a couple of cars to pass, Schwochow said. The truck pulled out in front of the other truck, he said.
Mawalage was cited with failure to yield, the spokeswoman said.
She said she did not know whether the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Personnel from Fostoria EMS, Kansas fire and Seneca County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident, which was reported around 9:30 a.m.
