Maxine J. ‘Mickey’ Hossler

Maxine J. "Mickey" Hossler, 87, of Tiffin, died at 5:31 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

Maxine was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Tiffin, to the late Victor Hopple and Corrine (Perry) Hopple Meisner. She married Marion "Jake" Hossler in January of 1946, in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1997.

Survivors include her son, Aaron (Cindy) Hossler of Tiffin; grandson, Gregory A. Hossler; and great-grandson, Jacob A. Hossler.

Maxine was a homemaker, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ Church, Tiffin, the Penthouse Club, Mohawk Country Club, Bridge Club and various other local clubs. She enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, sewing, traveling around the world and also was a gourmet cook. Maxine was an avid golfer, skier and a 1944 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.

Maxine also was preceded in death by a son, Larry Hossler, and a sister, Norma Jean Focht.

A memorial service for Maxine will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin, with the Dr. Rev. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will be private at Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation for Maxine's family and friends will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ Church.
