Maxine J. ‘Mickey’ Hossler

Maxine J. "Mickey" Hossler, 87, of Tiffin, died at 5:31 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

Maxine was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Tiffin, to the late Victor Hossler and Corrine (Terry) Meisner. She married Marion "Jake" Hossler in Tiffin, in January 1946, and he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1997.

Survivors include her son, Aaron (Cindy) Hossler of Tiffin; a grandson, Gregory A. Hossler; and a great-grandson, Jacob A. Hossler.

Maxine was a homemaker, a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Penthouse Club, Mohawk County Club, Bridge Club and various other local clubs. Maxine enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, sewing, traveling around the world and was a gourmet cook. Maxine was an avid golfer, skier and a 1944 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Larry Hossler; and a sister, Norma Jean Focht.

A memorial service for Maxine will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Trinity United Church of Christ with the Dr. Rev. Louis Dorsch officiating.

Visitation for Maxine's family and friends will be from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will be a private family burial held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
