Herman Victor Williams

Herman Victor Williams, 90, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and formerly Tiffin, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.

He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Tiffin, to David and Hannah (Biller) Williams.

He is survived by three children, Cynthia (Stephen) Lupton of Tiffin, Marsha Williams of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Thomas (Julie) Williams of China; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three siblings, Roy Williams, Dale Williams and Neva Hunker; and a sister-in-law, Ann Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Meyers) Williams in 2010; and his two brothers, Stanley and Carl.

Herman was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lehigh Acres, and a former member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He taught and was a principal in the Tiffin Public Schools and a professor at Heidelberg College. He was active in many community organizations during his years in Tiffin.

A memorial service will take place Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres, Fla.
