Eugene "Gene" Horner, 81, of Bellevue, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Bellevue Care Center.
He was born April 2, 1932, in Sharonville, to Robert B. and Loretta (Hansman) Horner. He was stationed on the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, while serving our country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He married Gloria Cleland Aug. 3, 1968, and she survives in Bellevue. Also surviving are three sons, Mark (Stacy) Horner of Medina, Kyle (Neilann) Horner of Albany, Ore., and Brent (Daphne) Horner of Hong Kong; four grandchildren; and four siblings, Mary Lemker of Ludlow, Ky., Janet Owens of West Chester, Marge Combs of Mongomery and Richard Horner of Sharonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Benard Horner.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue.
His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery, Castalia.
Memorial contributions may be given to Groton Township Volunteer Fire Department or Stein Hospice of Sandusky.
