Nancy Covert Uno was born in Seneca County and educated at Hopewell-Loudon School. Her father worked at Webster Manufacturing. Now a resident of Cheyenne, Wyo., and married to Larry Uno, she released two non-fiction books in July on Amazon Kindle eBooks. The titles are "Walking in Spirit in Wyoming" and "Reflections: Parables For Walking in Spirit."
Uno published her first book, "Journey Out of Nowhere," in 1973, after spending six weeks in a mental health ward in an Ohio hospital. The National Association of Mental Health honored the author for that work. Uno also went on a speaking tour to address groups of mental health professionals, patients and their families. She also has written seven young adult novels and taught creative writing at the university level.
