Carol Ann (Cooley) (Drake) Wheatley

Carol Ann (Cooley) (Drake) Wheatley, 71, of Hilliard, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, after a battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

She was born May 1, 1942, in Port Clinton. She married Terry James Wheatley Aug. 7, 1970, and he survives.

She also is survived by three sons, Walter Jay (Tina), Wayne and Terry Richard; a daughter, DiAnna (Brian) Wheatley Michel; 10 grandchildren: one unborn great-grandchild; a sister, Dianna (Bradd) Frick; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cooley (1945), her stepfather, Richard Drake (2001) and her mother, Juanita Drake (2009).

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. James Lutheran Church, 5660 Trabue Road, Columbus, with visitation one hour prior. Immediately following the funeral, a luncheon will be served at the church.

Contributions can be made to the ALS Association of Central & Southern Ohio or to Ohio Health Hospice Service.
